Hall of Fame induction: 2005

Let’s not kid ourselves: If WWE offered Hulk Hogan a massive payday to beat up some jabroni on the roster, he’d be all about it, brother.

But when Hogan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005, his in-ring career looked to be over. He hadn’t competed for WWE for two years in an underwhelming role as Mr. America, but that wouldn’t deter the company or the Hulkster.

Hogan formed an unusual partnership with Shawn Michaels, tagging together at Backlash the following month to defeat Davari and Muhammad Hassan. The two would team together on Raw twice more before HBK turned in Hogan, setting up their infamous (for all the wrong reasons) match at SummerSlam.

Hulk would disappear after winning that match, but he would return the following summer to defeat Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2006 in a feud that involved his daughter Brooke. That would be Hogan’s final match in WWE, as he would compete in TNA a handful of times as well before finally ending his career in 2012.
