5. Goldberg
Very few wrestlers were able to accomplish what Bill Goldberg did in his relatively short career, and he did with much less talent and knack for the business. The former college football star and Atlanta Falcon was driven toward wrestling by Sting and Lex Luger whom he met while working out at their gym. Goldberg had a brief stay at the Power Plant training facility before making his debut on Nitro against Hugh Morrus. Due to his limited skills, WCW made use of his strength and explosive athleticism to hide his weaknesses, namely the ability to work a competent match over two or three minutes long. A bout with William (then Steven) Regal is infamous for exposing Goldberg, since according to some, Regal wrestled with the intent of making the rookie look bad. Unfortunately whenever the phenom was required to be in the ring for any extended amount of time the shine wore off a bit and fans saw that despite being one of the most physically ominous men to ever set foot in the ring, he was all sizzle and no steak. Luckily for WCW their fans bought into the sizzle wholesale and turned Goldberg into one of the three biggest stars of his era.
