12 WWE Monsters Whose Muscles Were Bigger Than Their Skills

4. Ted Arcidi

Ted Arcdi Out of all the wrestlers who have been touted as "the strongest man in the world", Ted Arcidi was the first who could legitimately lay claim to the title. The powerlifter from Buffalo, NY became the first man to bench press 700 pounds in an official competition when he hoisted 705.5 to set the record. After several years on the lifting circuit Arcidi was recruited by Vince to join the ranks of WWE in late 1985. He piddled around with no real direction, and his only high profile appearance was at WrestleMania 2 where he took part in the Battle Royal. When Ken Patera returned to the company WWE parted ways with Arcidi since their gimmicks were identical and Patera was the established veteran. Ted did a few years in the territories and was a part of Percy Pringle's stable along with the not yet ultimate Dingo Warrior before eventually returning to powerlifting in 1990, setting yet another record, benching 718.1 pounds.
