12 WWE Nightmares That Could Come True In 2026

8. Charlotte Flair Reverts To Type

Not many could've predicted that Charlotte Flair would close out 2025 by being a genuinely likeable babyface. Groans could be heard when she won the Rumble in February. 'Aw, here we go again', some said. 'Why does she need another title reign anyway?!', came the cry from others. That title reign eluded her. Tiffany Stratton was the winner at WrestleMania 41, then everybody moved on.

Well, Charlotte moved on. Tiffany has actually been stuck in some bizarre creative limbo and is nowhere near as exciting an act as she was earlier in the year. It's nice to see Flair happy and clicking with fans though. Her tag-team alongside real-life pal Alexa Bliss is full of fun, chemistry and surely has a few tasty matches in waiting against all-comers now they're Women's Tag Champs.

However, things could shift yet again once the calendars flip to 2026. WWE may well revert to type with Charlotte by booking her to dominate the women’s division yet again. Nobody really wants to see it, because she's been done to death atop the pack as an elitist heel and that's pretty boring nowadays. Nah, it'd be far better if Flair was able to spin out of this tag stuff, sustain her babyface run and maybe enjoy a stint as Women's United States Champ (or something).

Putting her right back on top of the Women's Title scene would only hold others down, and there's no sense in doing that once the new year dawns. This is arguably WWE's best chance ever to make Charlotte legit likeable to the audience, so they should bend over backwards to keep that going for as long as possible.

No more benchmark chat. Let's move on.
