Triple H Revival
WWE

The Revival were f*cked alright.

The doubles equivalent of a Heath Slater kicking with nothing remotely resembling a 'rub' as they took finishers aplenty from the golden oldies to close out the televised portion of the Manhattan Center's Raw 25 celebration, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were categorically the wrong men for this job.

CM Punk famously closed Raw 1000 with a heel turn on The Rock, leaving plenty behind for next week and the months of character work he could play with before an electric clash. What a boost it could have been for the former NXT Tag Team Champions to tear through the oldies in similar fashion.

As with the Steve Austin/Roman Reigns paradigm shift discussed elsewhere, these are no longer the days where the talent gets to have a say - because the ordinarily outspoken pair surely would have vetoed this bullsh*t.

DX obliterated any and everybody in their path in 1997 to get over, but WWE's model is now so broken that an alleged instant rebuild for the lukewarm rookies won't offset the sacrifice here to flog a few green and black t-shirt to some fans that probably would have bought them anyway.
