12 WWE Royal Rumble Stats You Need To Know

6. Shortest Run To Victory

Austin Royal Rumble 2001
WWE

While Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit and Ric Flair all had to last an hour in the Royal Rumble to win, some have had the fortune to enter the match late and hold on to punch their ticket to WrestleMania with minimal effort.

Six men have won the Rumble after spending less than 10 minutes in the match, including John Cena (9:51 in 2008), “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (9:43 in 2001), Alberto Del Rio (9:33 in 2011), Triple H (9:03 in 2016) and Brock Lesnar (8:59 in 2003). But the winner for the shortest time in the Rumble and still emerging the winner is Edge, who made his triumphant return from injury in 2010, entering at #29 and winning the match in 7:19.

It’s hard to imagine someone winning a Rumble in less time, but you never know whether someone will enter at #30 and plow through the remaining field.
