1. The Undertaker

As well as many of the names on this list were repackaged, none of them actually had the term 'badass' in their nickname.

Electing to take some time away from the spotlight, The Undertaker stepped away from the WWF in September, 1999. The main purpose of this was to heal up some injuries that had been plaguing him for years.

Somewhere along the way from the start of his sabbatical to his reappearance, 'Taker decided to mix up his act. Returning in May 2000 at the Judgment Day pay-per-view, he interfered in the 'Iron Man' Match between Triple H and The Rock, debuting a markedly different look.

Gone were the supernatural elements of before, Undertaker was now known as the 'American Badass'. Riding down to ringside on a killer motorcycle, he looked amazing and people were delighted to see him back.

Suddenly, The Undertaker of before was replaced with a kickass biker who wasn't afraid to speak his mind. It was refreshing, and is still fondly remembered as one of the best periods of the man's epic career.

What other WWE stars can you think of who returned to the fold decidedly more badasss? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments section below!
