12 WWE Superstars Who Weren’t Drafted (And Why)

11. Tommaso Ciampa

WWE Draft 2023 Bray Wyatt
WWE

Workhorse extraordinaire Tommaso Ciampa hasn't worked in-ring since September 2022. He's currently on the injured list dealing with a nasty hip issue, and there's no word quite yet on exactly when the former NXT favourite will be back full-time.

That's a bit of a bummer for somebody who has had awful injury problems in the past, but had hoped they were behind him so he could focus on building a respectable main roster career. Although WWE will hopefully show patience with Ciampa, it's fair to say that business moves quickly.

Creative can surely find a spot for Tommaso on either top show when he does return to action. The guy's far too talented not to succeed, but the writers will likely cool it on his on-screen alliance with The Miz. That didn't look like it was gonna bear fruit anyway.

Upon his return, Tommaso could even reunite with old DIY tag team partner Johnny Gargano. It's hardly like 'Johnny Wrestling' has much going on himself.
