2. Last Man Standing

Triple H Shane McMahon

Earlier in the night, The Miz and Baron Corbin had what was predictably the dullest match on the card. However, it still a credit to both. Still trying to improve, Corbin sold a bad wheel convincingly, and Miz remained the most important full-timer on the roster with yet another selfless display. His willingness to let Baron cut a post-match promo over top his prone frame was a fine callback to his rampant abuse of interviewer Renee Young and an enormous further lift to 'The Lone Wolf's credibility.

Shane McMahon could learn a thing or two from the 'A-Lister'.

What's in the f***ing kool-aid at arenas worldwide that continue to ensure fans greet this man with cheers loud enough to convince his father to continue pushing him as the toughest man in the world?

Reptilian and robotic in his propensity for swallowing up the skills of others, 'The Money' tonight gobbled up the resilience of his entire roster to survive ludicrous levels of offence.

The five-on-five main event was problematic in places (more on that later), but utterly infuriating in the bold-faced protection of the Commissioner against onslaught of Raw and SmackDown Live! talent alike. How long did he cling on in Kurt Angle's anklelock that should have finished the match? How quickly did he return from the murderous hesitation dropkick from Finn Bálor. How easily did he fend off Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's Chuckle Brothers' act in comfortably the worst point of the whole show.

If a teased dissent with Daniel Bryan comes to fruition in the aftermath of all this, here's hoping he copies the 'Yes Man' and sustains an injury so brutal he also has to retire. It's gotten way beyond ridiculous.
