This is far from the best possible version of the Midnights, but it was the first: Condrey and Rose formed the team in the very early 80's, and by 1982 they had brought former rival Norvell Austin into the fold. They may have been the first team to utilise the Freebird Rule, but it's unclear exactly how long they reigned; their home territory of Memphis was infamous for hot-shotting titles, and much of this run occurred at live events that may or may not have been recorded.
