13 Essential Tips For Passing A WWE Try-Out

2. Seriously, Be Prepared For Hell

WWE

Bodybuilder Matt Dawson had a tryout in March 2014, and described the experience in less than glowing terms:

"Hell just might be an understatement... I thought I was going to die at least 5 times, but I never quit or gave up. I couldn't believe the extent that they pushed us, as this was by far the hardest thing I have ever done athletically. I would rather go through 2 months of college football 2-a-days then experience another 3 days of this. Brutal is an extreme understatement. After each and every training session I honestly didn't know if i was going to survive. Every single muscle, joint, tendon, and ligament was screaming."

And that's from a heavily conditioned athlete. It's also not enough to be better than yourself, you have to better than everyone else: it's a competition, and as Dangerboy Derek Wylde's account shows, the jocks will call out those who shouldn't be there.

"One (and only) guy I'm going to shoot on is the "Daytona Beach Bad boy" Jason Cage. From the shape this guy showed up in, I can guess there are no gyms in Daytona Beach... About 10 squats into the 2nd set he fell over and couldn't go on... Fit asked him if he wanted to quit but he said no. He got up and fell over again after about 3 squats. He did this about 5 times. Normally I would say good for him but the thing is, every time we got started, he would fall and Fit would make everybody start all over again from the beginning. A lot of the boys started yelling at him to quit but he kept saying that this was for a WWE contract so he couldn't quit. He was just making it harder for the rest of us to get by."

So, yeah, it's tough.
