13 Most Profitable Years In WWE History

12. 2012 - $31,400,000

WWE were again feeling the pinch of the WWE Network start-up costs and ongoing movie division, but 2012 did improve slightly with $31,400,000 in profits.

It was notable for being the year where The Rock faced John Cena in the most bought pay-per-view event in company history. The not so "Once In A Lifetime" bout pulled in 78,000 fans to Miami's Sun Life Stadium.

The next night, Brock Lesnar returned to the company, adding further value to WWE's PPV business, though he came at a hefty fee. The irony is, all the while, WWE were readying the WWE Network to ultimately cannibalize the PPV business, with $8 million spent that year in Network star-up costs.
