13 Most Profitable Years In WWE History

11. 2006 - $31,617,000

For 2006, WWE's profits were $31,617,000. However, it is worth noting that this is just an eight month total. That's because WWE changed the way they did their accounting in 2006. It was previously May 1 to April 30 as a fiscal year, but it became January 1 to December 31 after 2006. As such, WWE's 2006 profits are only taken as May to December.

With that in mind, if the four months not included were considered, WWE's profits would have looked even rosier.

From the critical perspective, much of the business that year was built around D Generation X reuniting. It was a period in which classic acts were still important, while the likes of John Cena and Batista were establishing a new generation.
