With over $50 million generated in 2009, it was an excellent year commercially for WWE. It was also a success critically, with WWE celebrating the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania, where The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels had one of the best wrestling matches of all time.

Productivity across the business improved, with an 11% increase in earnings. Attendances also increased, and WWE again heralded the importance of their ongoing international growth.

There was also cost cutting throughout the company, which significantly cut costs and helped make the financial aspect of the business stronger as a whole.
