13 Things We Learned From Mick Foley On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

2. Thoughts On Dean Ambrose

Foley mentioned Dean Ambrose earlier in the evening and said he had something to say about him and Austin temporarily curtailed it to keep the discussion on track, but now he brings it back and Mick asks if they've got a little bit of time to talk about Dean.

He says if there's one takeaway he wants it to be that when he talked to Vince McMahon he told him that he doesn't care how often he comes back as long as when he does it's for something that has "force" with it, citing his 2014 segment with Ambrose and Seth Rollins as an example of that.

So when he was asked to come back and do a backstage promo with Dean he wasn't sold on the idea because he thought the promo would need to be delivered inside the ring to be truly important. He didn't want to make waves so he went along with it, but he realized his job was to portray Dean in the best possible fashion, and made some suggestions to change the tone of the segment because he thought there was too much humor.

He says the two went over ideas and he's thankful they did it live because they would have gone back through and nitpicked it. He says even 30 years into his career he still gets a tingle when something important happens and he thinks the promo was one of the most important things he's ever done.
