13 Things We Learned From Mick Foley On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

5. The Origins Of Mankind

Steve talks about the Mankind character and wants to know the genesis of it, mentioning that Vince wanted to initially call him Mason The Mutilator. He then points out how McMahon would bring potential talents to his home to recruit them and Foley says he never got that invite.

He asks Steve if he got to go Vince's home and when he replies that he did, Foley shows humorous frustration and then responds that there are a lot of guys who got that invite that never made it into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Foley says that when he and Steve arrived in WWE there was a list of talents that were meant to be the future of the company and neither of their names were on it. When Jim Ross came aboard he began a steady push to bring Foley, and finally Vince relented and said "Alright, damnit I'll bring him in, but I'm covering up his face."

Mick said it wasn't until his appearance on The Today Show in 2001 that he realized he wasn't actually a bad looking guy.
