3. Chris Benoit
Jericho talks about how close Chris Benoit and Eddie were, waking up at 7:00 AM to hit the gym while he and Dean Malenko were content to sleep in until noon. He asks Vickie how hard it hit Chris when Eddie passed away. She replies that it was extremely hard on him, pointing out that she and Chris's wife Nancy were very good friends and Nancy stayed with her for two weeks after Eddie's death, and she learned through her how badly Benoit was bothered by the loss of his best friend. Vickie says that Nancy started noticing a lot of emotional changes in Chris, and tells the story of Chris attending Eddie's funeral and then coming back to their house, climbing in she and Eddie's bed and crying like a baby. That's when she knew how difficult it was going to be. Jericho says at the funeral, Chris gave him a hug so hard that it physically hurt him, expressed his anger that Jericho was passed over for being a pall bearer and gave him a rose. They both agree that he was never the same after Eddie's death, and Vickie thinks that it was probably the catalyst for his unraveling. She said it was tremendously hard because she would hear from Nancy about their problems and then see Chris at work and wish that he would talk to her. She wonders if Eddie passing away just caused Chris to not want to be here anymore. Vickie maintained her friendship with Nancy, talking to her the week she passed away. The two then delve into a discussion about the damage caused by multiple concussions and the research that's been done in the wake of their deaths and how they may have played a role in what happened with the Benoits.
