Chris inquires about the origin of her famous catchphrase that would garner such a heated reaction from the crowds, and Vickie replies that it was the result of a botched promo. She mentions that she would normally get her promos three or four hours before showtime and one night a writer came to her before they went on air and told her they had made some changes. When she got in the ring and began delivering the promo she forgot her lines and totally blanked out, and the crowd could tell and started reacting in accordance. Out of desperation, she says she uttered the phrase "Will you just excuse me?" and they started booing her vociferously. She didn't think anything of it and then on the following SmackDown a writer approached her and suggested she "try that 'excuse me' thing again. Vickie says even now whenever she's out in public she gets fans yelling "Excuse me!" to her. Houston is a big wrestling town and she gets recognized often, receiving a lot of well wishes from the people she encounters out in public.
