13 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Revolution 2022

11. Hook vs. QT Marshall

This was perfect.

Hook showed up, put QT Marshall on his ass, and went home with the W. Minimal resistance met the Team Taz prospect on the short road to victory and he claimed his greatest scalp yet in the form of the Factory head, who was overmatched and out of touch.

This was a strong pairing from the off. Hook is universally adored, looks great, and is supremely impressive in the way he buzzsaws through his opponents, showing something new in every match. QT, meanwhile, compels everyone to root against him and thinks he's the biggest deal in the game. In reality, his character is a low-level foot soldier with Tony Soprano delusions. He's ideal for spots like this.

Battered from the first bell, Marshall tried to goad Hook outside the ring. When that failed, he pie-faced 'The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil' to spend the grand sum of about 20 seconds in control before being suplexed on the outside. Skullduggery gave QT several openings from there, giving Hook his longest AEW match to date and the fans an opportunity to see how he sells (quite well, by the way), but the finish was inevitable. Redrum forced Marshall to tap before Hook made a hasty exit.
