13 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Revolution 2022

12. Jade Cargill vs. Tay Conti

It had its rough edges, Jade Carhill vs. Tay Conti, but the match was a broad success that, like many of the night's other bouts, saw its participants beat the tar out of each other.

Conti survived an early Jaded attempt following heated opening exchanges. When the action spilt to the outside and Mark Sterling ate a flip dive, Anna Jay got booted into the timekeeper's table, prompting the Dark Order's 'Queenslayer' to blast Cargill with a chair a minute or so later. As the bout progressed, Tay hit a brutal-looking sitout piledriver for another two but couldn't sustain the pressure. She hit the top rope, clawing her way to the W, but was knocked face-first into the ring post camera, then hit with Jaded for the pinfall.

Jade continues to come off extremely well in her TBS Championship run. Sure, she doesn't know as many variations of a Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex as your workrate favourites, but she's progressing. In the meanwhile, her matches will continue to pulse with character and personality as she sh*t-talks, taunts, and blasts the hell out of her opponents with pump kicks, projecting pure star power as she goes.
