13 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Revolution 2022
8. Table 4 Sting
Sting, a 62-year-old man with a history of neck and spinal issues, leapt from the top of a tunnel through four tables, driving Andrade El Idolo to his doom in a spot apeing New Jack or Royal Rumble 2000 Jeff Hardy. An incredible, eyeball-popping spot from a guy who really shouldn't be able to do these things anymore, but is cherished because he can.
Andrade Hardy Family Office vs. Sting, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara was a chaotic mess in all the right ways. Wrestlers brawled all over the place, creating a frantic tone that the cameras could barely keep up with. The Tornado Tag stipulation was played up to the fullest in that regard. Wrestlers brawled on the floor, in the ring, and up in the bleachers, often simultaneously, and the loose rules allowed interference from The Butcher and The Blade, Marq Quen, and Jose the Assistant, all of whom had an impact.
Well, except Jose. Poor guy got smoked by Sting.
If Sting's dive wasn't wild enough for you, Guevara's Spanish Fly from the entrance tunnel to the floor with Isiah Kassidy in his clutches may have been. How about The Butcher swinging Darby into a steel barricade over and over? Just nuts.
A reverse DDT onto a steel chair followed by a Coffin Drop ended Matt Hardy's night, setting him up for a full-on AHFO split ahead of brother Jeff's seemingly imminent arrival.
