13 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown 2021

It's no surprise as to why Masha Slamovich was offered a full-time contract with IMPACT Wrestling, though this wasn't shown on the broadcast. What was shown, however, was her barnstormer vs. Deonna Purrazzo. The two had this unreal chemistry with one another, combining their somewhat similar styles to create an exemplary technical affair.

For every Slamovich suplex, there was a Purrazzo submission to match it. It was a gorgeous pro wrestling display that exuded the style of an exhibition fight because in a way, it was. This essentially acted as an IMPACT tryout for Masha. She was (kayfabe) picked by Mickie James to face Deonna, with the Knockouts Title not defended.

It worked meticulously well for this style.

Though she ultimately submitted to the Venus di Milo, Masha wrestled like it was her last outing. Her barrage of suplex variants early on startled the 'Virtuosa', while her Akira Hokuto-inspired Northern Lights Bomb later planted Deonna right on her shoulderblades. It was quite literally as perfect a debut as you could imagine.

Props, too, to Matthew Rehwoldt, for not causing much of a nuisance. Masha's dive onto him was only just warranted.
