13 Ups & 3 Downs From NJPW Dominion 6.9 2019

7. G1 Jon

A brief post-match promo saw Jon Moxley grab the microphone to deliver "a message from Cincinnati, Ohio," and the opening segment's biggest development.

The 33-year-old claimed that "Jon Moxley - international purveyor of violence, gentleman, and all-round sick son of a b*tch... wants in the G1 Climax." Cue: mic drop.

That Mox had to be part of NJPW's signature summer tournament was apparent from the moment his bout with Juice Robinson concluded. It looks like we're going to be treated to all kinds of fresh, exciting singles matches featuring the 'Death Rider,' and won't be made to wait for potential first-time clashes with guys like Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, and any other New Japan heavyweight you can think of.

That tour will be a major test of Moxley's abilities, but will give a clear indication of how he's going to fare long-term. Let's hope he kills it.
