When it was all said and done, the 2019 Slammiversary event was being touted as the best pay-per-view of 2019 at that point. Just a fancy moniker for Impact's PR team to use? Not at all. It was an achievement they earned rightfully.

The night was capped off with the highly-anticipated encounter between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard, which was the first time in history an Intergender Match had main evented the pay-per-view of a huge wrestling show. That alone was enough to make this a memorable night in wrestling history, but that's not to say this was a one match show. In fact, it was the exact opposite, as near enough every match on the card delivered one way or another.

A four way X division bout got the night off to a hot start, while the Eddie Edwards vs. Killer Kross First Blood Match and the four way Monster's Ball for the Knockouts Championship were both thrilling weapons-based encounters with some nasty spots in each. World Champion Brian Cage's return to in-ring competition in Impact following his injury suffered at Rebellion came in the form of a fantastic big lads battle against Michael Elgin, whereas Johnny Impact had his final match in the company as he failed to lift the X Division Championship from Rich Swann in another decent match.

It was called the best pay-per-view in July, and as we now sit at the start of January, it's certainly still up there as one of the best.
