13 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 27)

4. A Fighting Chance

Scorpio Sky Chris Jericho
AEW

While Chris Jericho vs. Scorpio Sky could have perhaps used another week or two of build, it's hard to complain about anything other than Jim Ross' proclamation that Aubrey Edwards "doesn't let her gender be an issue" while trying to praise her skills. Come on, man.

At what might be the end of an awesome rise up the card, Scorp showed boatloads of fight. He was given some excellent nearfalls by Jericho, with the crowd fully hooked in his challenged by the time 'Le Champion' kicked out of a TKO at 2.9999, moments after Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian had taken care of the interfering Jake Hager. He looked believable, is the bottom line. Yes, he was always going to lose, but the drama was there and he and Jericho made the journey to the predictable outcome sufficiently compelling.

A missed Judas Effect led to another Sky nearfall before Jericho finally scored the victory, forcing Scorpio to tap out to the Liontamer. It's nice to see that this promotion isn't scared of clear submission losses.
