13 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 27)

2. Another Cold Debut

The Butcher and the Blade Allie
AEW

The Butcher and The Blade are an awesome indie tag team who will do great things in an AEW ring and repackaging Allie alongside real-life partner Pepper Parks (Blade) makes sense, as her babyface act hadn't taken off. Regardless, the trio's debut was every bit as flat as The Dark Order's at Double Or Nothing.

It went down as Cody was trying to cut a fired-up post-match promo after felling a jobber. The Blade literally cut through the ring to attack 'The American Nightmare,' with The Butcher (Every Time I Die's Andy Williams) joining the bludgeoning, before Allie was hoisted out as well. A solid layout, but it played out to cricket chirps as very few in attendance seemed to know who Parks and Williams are.

It's a less-than-encouraging start for a talented tandem with an awesome look, and disappointing similar to Evil Uno and Grayson's failed launch. Still, these guys are rocking a similar aesthetic to Marty Scurll and they attacked Cody. Perhaps there's something to look into there...
