If you felt like you saw every angle of the Seth Rollins/Rey Mysterio feud multiple times in 2020, you aren’t alone.

The rivalry between the Monday Night Messiah and the legendary masked luchador started off with a ton of promise: Rollins needed a good feud with a quality opponent, and Rey could have used an opportunity to continue his renaissance. Instead, the wheels quickly fell off as Rollins targeted Mysterio’s eye in a bizarre angle that grossly underperformed.

That feud, which began in May, continued through July, when they had the aforementioned “eye-for-an-eye” match. With Rey out of action, son Dominik stepped in and continued the feud with Rollins and Murphy, as things grinded on through the summer and fall carrying over from Raw to SmackDown as all parties were drafted to the blue brand.

Along the way, Rey’s 19-year-old daughter Aalyah was incorporated into the storyline and started a semi-romantic angle with Murphy (who’s in his early 30s). The feud finally was buried in November when Rollins left for the birth of his and Becky Lynch’s first child.

If it hadn’t been for paternal duties, this six-month feud could still be going on today, with the same four wrestlers squabbling. Consider that, and then recoil.
