13 Ups And 23 Downs For WWE In 2020

21. Owens’ Listless Year

When you talk about wrestlers who are under-utilized in terms of talent and ability, you have to start with Kevin Owens.

KO’s 2020 was a nearly wasted year itself, save for a memorable WrestleMania 36 victory over Seth Rollins after a lengthy feud with the Monday Night Messiah. However, it was Rollins who emerged from Mania with the renewed push, while Owens fell into the background. He had some sporadic appearances before feuding with Aleister Black in a strange rivalry that could have been interesting but ultimately went nowhere.

Owens was all but a forgotten man when he was drafted to SmackDown, where he saved face with his feud with Roman Reigns to close out the year. But if you saw Mania and then saw TLC last week, you’d think KO had a banger of a 2020. You’d be shocked to learn that everything in between was just directionless fluff.
