Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were arguably the hottest tag team in TNA when they were working, employing a degree of high flying aerials and tandem offense only seen in teams like The Young Bucks, London & Kendrick, and The Rockers.

Shelley may have been amazing in TNA, but unbelievably, he took things to an even higher level in NJPW.

Shelley was able to outdo himself by forming a legendary partnership with Kushida, making the Time Splitters one of Japan's best ever junior heavyweight tag teams, proving their worth against duos like The Young Bucks and reDRagon, who would later join WWE to form the Undisputed Era with Adam Cole.

His popularity in NJPW would lead to him taking part in the Best of The Super Juniors tournament where he would mix it up with some of wrestling's best, like Prince Devitt and Kenny Omega, two of Bullet Club's former leaders. Shelley even managed to get a shot against Omega for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title.

With Shelley doing some training at the WWE performance center, and Kushida being a key player for NXT, many fans are still awaiting the full-time return of the Time Splitters. That one-off reunion only whetted everyone's appetite.
