Despite being advertised for the upcoming February PPV Fast Lane, this seems like too sudden a pairing for the rivalry to end in February, when both of these men are needed to add to the star power of WrestleMania. So it wouldnt be unexpected for their match at Fast Lane to end in a dusty finish and lead to a bigger match at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, with WWE being WWE, there is the strong possibility that, if John Cena and Rusev face each other at WrestleMania, then Cena is likely to win the match cleanly, either via pin fall or submission. This would, in turn, end Rusevs impressive winning streak, as he has yet to be pinned or made submit since debuting on the main roster last year. If Rusev is to lose at WrestleMania, it would make more sense for someone other than Cena to defeat him. John Cena doesnt need this feud, nor does he need to win yet again; if anything, Rusev is in desperate need of a victory over a top face, and there is no bigger face in WWE than John Cena. If WWE go in this direction, then they are likely to repeat the Bray Wyatt debacle from last year. Wyatt was a big star at the beginning of 2014, then lost virtually all of his momentum once he lost to John Cena. If this happens to Rusev, then all of his accomplishments in the past year will have been for naught. While it would be better for Rusev to beat Cena to make him a bigger star, or to have someone else defeat Rusevs impressive winning streak and possibly elevate the U.S. Championship, John Cena winning seems like its going to become an unfortunate reality.
