10 Most Memorable WWE Underdog Victories

David and Goliath tales from inside a wrestling ring.

Pro wrestling is a simple sport, when you break it down to its very core. There are easy "formulas" that stand the test of time, and are used by wrestling promotions all across the globe, in an attempt to bring fans in to arenas, and in the case of the lucky, get fans to watch on television or order on pay-per-view. One of those formulas is, simply, "David and Goliath". In the bible, Goliath was a gigantic Philistine warrior that would eventually be beaten by the much smaller David, the man who would later become King of Israel. Through time, "David and Goliath" would go on to describe any situation where one side was much smaller than the other, or one side faced incredible odds in trying to obtain the goal they were looking for. With wrestling often being aimed towards the much larger, more muscular workers, it's only natural for the smaller wrestlers, both in stature and promotional hype, to want their share of the spotlight. If you're going to discuss "David and Goliath" situations in wrestling, you must look at these ten instances, where the odds were stacked against someone for one reason or another, and they were forced to overcome those odds when nobody expected them to do so.
