8. Shelton Benjamin Defeats Triple H - Raw 2004

Shelton Benjamin Triple H Shelton Benjamin will go down as one of the most athletically gifted wrestlers anyone has ever seen. When he got in a ring, there was nothing he couldn't do. Many wrestling fans really wanted to see him become a big star in the business. His detractors would say that he didn't have the charisma or the mic skills needed to make himself a main event player, but realistically, that didn't stop many a wrestler from reaching that level in the past. On an episode of Raw in 2004, Shelton faced off against Triple H, who was only two weeks removed from dropping the World Title to Chris Benoit at WrestleMania 20. As good as Shelton was, he was only going to be a minor obstacle for Triple H to get over as he tried to get his World Title back. Not so fast. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x324y9_triple-h-vs-shelton-benjamin_sport After a distraction by Benoit (who was merely going after Ric Flair, who interfered in the match on behalf of Trips), Shelton got the roll-up victory, shocking the fans in Cincinnati that night. Not only did this happen, but Shelton would then go on to beat Triple H again the following week, albeit by countout this time. In fact, Shelton would go 6-0-1 in matches (singles, six-man tag, and eight-man tag) where he opposed Triple H over the next nine months. To be fair, Shelton never pinned him in any of those matches outside of the first one, but he still won. Fans assumed the wins would lead to something much bigger, but it never happened.
