Vince McMahon totally didn't get the seriousness of Punk's intentions, because a week later he texted how ya feeling pal? You ready to come back to work? Punk texted back no, Im so mentally f*cking shot. A few weeks after that and Punk discovered he'd been put on suspension for two months. When that expired, Punk says nobody contacted him. He contacted them about royalties and they gave him the run around. Then, in June, Triple H texted Punk and asked for a chat. Punk was unable to do this because he was getting married the next day to AJ Lee (which WWE were aware of). On June 13th, the day of his wedding to AJ Lee, WWE sent Punk termination papers. He tried to not let it ruin his big day, but the move was obviously calculated. Punk says that was too f***ing far. Part of Punk's termination papers was a No Compete Clause that says he can't work for the UFC. Alberto Del Rio also got served this same clause. That's a pretty good indication that the WWE do indeed see MMA as competition.
