After leaving WWE in January, Punk got some of his nagging issues checked out by an independent doctor. He'd be complaining to WWE about a swell on his back for some time, but the WWE doctor Chris Amann had dismissed it. Well, it turned out that swell was actually a MERSA staph infection. The independent doctor removed it for Punk and told him that he was lucky not to be dead. Punk had actually had this for months, but worked with it because the WWE doctor misdiagnosed it. The fact that Punk could have died due to Amann's inefficiency is shocking. This is going to be one of those things that WWE need to address from the interview. Either Punk should be suing Amann for such a serious incident, or Amann should be suing Punk for defamation. All we know for sure is that Punk's interview has made WWE's healthcare look abysmally bad.
