Wow. What a main event! Many expected Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega to put on a MOTY level main event to headline Wrestle Kingdom 11, but it is fair to say the match exceeded even those lofty expectations. When this near 47-minute epic came to an end Okada stood tall, leaving people openly weeping in the audience.

The match had everything, and anyone feeling that Kenny Omega comes out the loser clearly wasn't paying attention. Omega may not have picked up the victory but The Cleaner comes out of Wrestle Kingdom 11 as an even bigger star, the man who took Okada all the way to the limit and then some. It took multiple Rainmakers to keep the G1 Climax winner down, and the feeling still prevails that if Omega had managed to hit the One Winged Angel, we'd have a different IWGP Heavyweight Champion right now.

The main event also confirms what many already knew to be true; Kazuchika Okada is the true Ace of New Japan Pro Wrestling. The Rainmaker has headlined the last three Wrestle Kingdom events and been involved in the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match for the last four, and at 29 years of age it is clear that Okada is going to lead NJPW into the future. The company has a major, major star on their hands.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
