Tiger Mask W, who almost certainly definitely wasn't Kota Ibushi, was successful in the opening match of the main card of Wrestle Kingdom 11, defeating the dastardly Tiger the Dark in a fun little bout. This live action anime battle was fine for what it was, although the entire thing felt somewhat hard to catch on to if you aren't familiar with the story.

What is important is that Tiger Mask W picked up the win with the Tiger Bomb, and continues his fight against Miss X and the Global Wrestling Monopoly. Of course, there is oh so much to read into here, as the dark shadow of Vince McMahon and WWE continues to loom large over the pro wrestling world.

Even so, as fun as all this is can we not just have Kota Ibushi back please?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
