By SummerSlam 2016, WWE knew they had a real gem on their hands with AJ Styles. After working back-to-back stunners against Roman Reigns at Payback and Extreme Rules, AJ was programmed opposite Cena. At Money in the Bank, he won, but only after Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson interfered.

Styles needed a clean win over Cena before the feud ended, and he got it at SummerSlam by winning a 23-minute scorcher. If you haven't since, go back and watch this one. You won't be disappointed, especially not with the ebb and flow of the near falls that fooled people into thinking Cena might come out on top.

AJ did pin Cena again in a Triple Threat match at No Mercy (also involving Dean Ambrose) by using a steel chair, but it's the SummerSlam win that stands out because it was one-on-one. Cena worked tirelessly to ensure that AJ came out of SummerSlam looking like the best and Styles again exceeded WWE expectations against another top name.
