14 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Aug 22)

8. Deadly Draw Ends On A High

Brandi Rhodes
AEW

The Nightmare Sisters vs. Ivelisse and Diamante was comfortably the Deadly Draw Women's Tag Team Cup's best match. Fitting, given it was the final, though all for wrestlers worked hard, delivering a contest more than worthy of the promotion from YouTube to TNT.

It was a bad night for any bad faith actor still holding onto the idea that this competition was a Brandi vanity project, as The Nightmare Sisters were eventually put away when Ivelisse booted Allie in the face after Diamante's Cazadora Stunner. QT Marshall's interference spot was subverted when Ivelisse clobbered him off the apron and there were some snug shots peppered throughout, particularly Diamante's nasty back elbow on Allie, coming shortly after Ivelisse had cleaned Brandi's clock with a Lariat following a prolonged heat segment.

Good, solid work, with the right team winning in the end. Both winners should be signed to full-time deals.
