14 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion 2021

IMPACT's best pay-per-view of the Anthem Sports and Entertainment era.

Kenny Omega IMPACT Champion

Mamma f*cking Mia.

Rebellion 2021 was the greatest IMPACT Wrestling pay-per-view of the Scott D'Amore and Don Callis era. The majority of matches delivered with the correct outcomes most of the time, some of which were so far beyond superb it should be a crime. Most importantly, though, Kenny Omega is the company's World Champion.

Go back five years, tell yourself that, and enjoy a chuckle.

His main event vs. Rich Swann was a wonderful display of professional wrestling that was only ever going to go one way. Even with that in mind, it took absolutely nothing away from the match itself - and what a match it was.

In other non-Omega-related news from the night, Josh Alexander captured the X Division Championship in a cracking opener, Taylor Wilde returned to confront the Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Big Cass - now known as W. Morrissey - debuted as Eric Young's replacement alongside the rest of Violent By Design, and Trey Miguel wrestled Sami Callihan in one of the greatest last man standing bouts to date.

Going forward, there's so much to dissect. Kenny Omega being the IMPACT World Champion provides at least a handful of stories in itself. We now head towards July's Slammiversary pay-per-view. The night our world changes again.

Let's get to it...
