14 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion 2021

1. Needs More Juice

Oof.

FinJuice’s first defence of the World Tag Team Championships vs. The Good Brothers suffered from card placement. It had to follow the epic last man standing bout between Sami Callihan and Trey Miguel, which unless you’re Rich Swann and Kenny Omega, isn’t possible.

The in-ring action wasn’t all there. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson were good in dominating the defending champions, and even when FinJuice did get some offence in, it wasn’t as good as what they showed at Sacrifice. Juice Robinson’s leaping senton is alright, but you need much more than this to stand out on such a marquee pay-per-view. David Finlay saved Juice from a Magic Killer, allowing Robinson to roll up ‘The Big LG’ for the three.

A surprising title retention for the New Japan tandem, but sadly it was a bit of a letdown. They had a lot to follow, both in the form of the card’s prior match and their original Sacrifice match, so you can’t blame the guys too much. They tried and failed. It happens. It’s a pity, but what can you do? Where Finlay and Robinson go next as champions will be intriguing to see.
