14 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Mar 19)

13. A Fine Women's Tag

Again, the result wasn't ideal, but Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. The IIconics was a solid, functional TV bout that won't live long in the memory, but accomplished exactly what whoever laid it out wanted to with minimal fuss and no obvious flaws (other than Lacey Evans' pointless interruption).

The IIconics are basic, but fine. They're improving. Though Royce is perhaps the more advanced of the two between the ropes, Kay is starting to put it together as well, and while she may never be as fluid as her opponents, she doesn't look out of place sharing a ring with them.

Here, the Australians kept things simple. They spent time on the backfoot as Banks mocked their signature pose, but triumphed through solid heel work, with Billie damn near kicking Bayley's head off with a big boot on the outside, then holding Banks' leg down as Peyton made the cover, scoring their biggest victory since Super Show-Down.

Weekly TV was made for bouts this like this. It was alright.
