Hulk Hogan was positively job happy in 2002.

While he was responsible for some of the dumbest sh*t ever uttered by a professional wrestler - he once claimed to have possessed the ability to extend the Gregorian calendar by travelling between the United States of America and Japan - he knew the lay of the land. He knew that he had to play ball; Vince McMahon had just monopolised the industry. Hulk couldn't or wouldn't make money elsewhere. He wasn't desperate yet, but he also knew that he wasn't a needle-moving megastar anymore.

In an utterly chaotic and desperate time - WWE spent an eternity building Triple H as the returning babyface hero, only to job him to Hogan in a month - Hogan seemed to take his wins where he could get 'em. Vince was so powerful that, with Steve Austin acting as the rule-proving exception, he could tell anybody what to do and they'd have to like it. Hell, even Austin himself came back and laid down for the Rock.

Hogan did the job, too, against Kurt Angle at King Of The Ring. True, he spent more time in the ankle lock than he did between Japan and the States in 1984, but he tapped. Hogan tapped!
