Bill Goldberg has often teased the idea of fighting for real, most notably in 2001 and 2002 when he was looking to leverage bookings in pro wrestling. When UFC then boomed in the mid 2000's, he would regularly be seen at their events. He was also training MMA, and was continually interviewed on his thoughts about fighters. But his passion for the sport never materialised into an offer from the UFC. Goldberg was a big star, which came with a big price tag. He's always been a cool business operator, only working when the money is right. Vince McMahon found that out in 2003, when he had to offer an unprecedented million dollar deal to Goldberg for part time dates. If he had made the jump to MMA, he certainly had the physical attributes to make a career. He'd played football at the NFL level and had a hell of a build on him. His training in MMA is untested, but maybe he could have been a contender. Now aged 48, there's no chance, but he continues to talk about doing a deal for a kickboxing fight in GLORY.
