13. The British...Sailors?
Japan loves wackyness. Have you seen their commercials and game shows? Well, some of that extended to their wrestling magazines. Here, for some reason, the British Bulldogs have been dressed up as Popeye-esque sailors. Davey Boy Smith, the lovable goof that he was, seems to be having a ball, while Dynamite Kid...well, he has the exact facial expression you'd expect someone who hated people as much as Dynamite Kid would react if placed in this situation. Who got him to agree to it, though? Seriously, how do you approach a man as angry as Dynamite Kid and ask him to wear a terrible false beard for a magazine shoot where he's an old-timey sailor for some reason?
12. Bat Man y Robin
There's a rich tradition of trademark infringement in lucha libre. Everything from Ninja Turtles to Teletubbies to Shrek and Donkey to Power Rangers to Archie. Really, Archie. But it likely doesn't go back much further than the team of Bat Man (yes, BAT MAN) and Robin in the '70s. Check out the flesh-toned sections of the masks. Don't you just love superheroes who look like burn victims? Seriously, why can't their masks just be, you know, the characters' actual masks? Why do they have to look so nightmarish, especially Batman? the cowl covers almost his entire face!
