In November of 1995, Diesel met Bret Hart in a no holds barred match for his WWE Championship that he had held for the past year. Its been well documented that 1995 wasnt the greatest year for WWE. Diesel was the lowest drawing champion ever, and was desperately in need of quality performances. Ironically, he would turn in his most memorable effort on the night he lost the belt. Opposing him was the legendary Bret Hart who spent the year facing opponents such as Bob Backlund, Issac Yankem, Jean-Pierre LaFitte, & Jerry Lawler while he waited to get his shot at the championship. Subsequently, this was the rubber match of this feud. Each time Hart and Diesel faced off (Royal Rumble 95, King Of The Ring 94) their contests were ruined by excessive interference. Bret was quoted as saying, that during 1995 it felt like Diesel was walking around with his belt. Furthermore, this was one of the earliest WWE no holds barred championship matches. Bret Hart went through a table near the end of the match, in a moment that was more in place in ECW than WWE in 1995. The finish featured a great goldbricking spot where Hart small packaged Diesel for the title. Who was the crowd cheering? Bret Hart
