15 Best WWE Attitude Era Matches

5. Triple H Vs. Chris Jericho - Last Man Standing Match (Fully Loaded 2000)

Chris Jericho had a tough time of it when he debuted with the WWF in the summer of 1999, a victim of backstage politics and somebody that Triple H described as having 'nuclear' heat thanks to perceived attitude problems. Jericho had to endure a lot of s*** during his first few months with the company but, by spring 2000, he was well on the right path having a number of stirring matches with Chris Benoit. Jericho's proper coming out party, however, would be against a Triple H who was having the best matches of his career. The two wrestlers had previously competed in a white-hot WWF Championship match on an episode of Raw where Jericho had famously won the belt only to return it later in the evening under orders from referee Earl Hebner. But at Fully Loaded 2000, there were to be no screwy finishers or time restrictions and Y2J and The Game produced a classic. The match, fought under last man standing rules, had a little bit of everything: great storytelling, some brutal brawling and a manly bladejob by Triple H. Hunter got the victory following a back suplex from the barricade through the announce table, barely beating the count at 9.9. Triple H was the man and Jericho looked great in the loss, which is easier said than done.
