15 Best WWE Attitude Era Matches

6. The Undertaker Vs. Mankind - Hell In A Cell Match (King Of The Ring 1998)

One of the most famous matches in WWE history, the Hell In A Cell match between Mankind and The Undertaker took years off of Mick Foley's career. Determined to outdo the Shawn Michaels versus Undertaker cell match from Badd Blood 97, Foley took it upon himself to do everything necessary to get the match over and get the fans talking. To Foley, that mean absorbing ungodly amounts of punishment. The two wrestlers started on top of the cage and uneasily brawled for a bit before Undertaker grabbed Mankind and threw him off the top of the cell, sending him crashing through the announce table. It was a breahtaking stunt, one which has lost none if its impact in the seventeen years since it took place. Undertaker followed that by chokeslamming Mick through the top of the cell. Poor Foley hit the mat with a sickening thud as Jim Ross speculated that he might, in fact, be dead. But Foley soldiered on and, despite the intense pain he was feeling, had a gripping match with Undertaker and took even more punishment later on, including two bumps into drawing pins. Many were glad when the match was over, including Vince McMahon, who made Foley promise never to do anything like that ever again. This one loses none of its edge, regardless of how many times you watch it.
