A figure that many adult collectors have been requesting for quite some time has been an Elite version of Goldust from the 1995/1996 time period.

Goldust has gone through many different character changes as well as shifts in appearance since his 1995 debut. Nearly every year from '95 until he left the company, Goldust would alter his appearance and come out in different looks. Toy manufacturers love that because it gives them endless amounts of source material to work with.

While Mattel has produced several modern versions of Goldust, including an early-2000s version shortly into the Mattel line, the toy manufacturer has yet to produce Goldust in his appearance from his debut in the mid-90s...until now.

While a prototype was not revealed, Mattel did present image renders of what the figure is expected to look like. This usually happens when the figure is in the process of being produced, but not close to being released. This one isn't likely to hit stores until sometime in 2017, but will be popular when it does.

Knowing that many fans have been clamoring for this figure, it was a wise reveal for Mattel to make.
