WWE actually made a good angle out of some real-life news for a change in March 2014 with the Occupy Raw segment. There were about two and a half years too late, sure, but the segment achieved its mission of cementing Daniel Bryan as a man of the people. Bryan cut a promo on the March 10th 2014 Raw on Triple H, saying that he refused to leave the ring until his demands were met. But Bryan wasn't alone: he invited a bunch of fans wearing Daniel Bryan t-shirts into the ring and to ringside and refused to move. Triple H inevitably came out and threatened to eject Bryan and his fans from the arena but that ended badly. The segment ended with the fans in the ring and sitting in the arena 'YESing' in unison. Everyone played their part perfectly, from Bryan and Triple H and Stephanie to J and J security to the 'fans' who had 'occupied' Raw.
