One of the major flaws in the WCW Invasion in 2001 was that the WWF didn't have access to some of the company's biggest names. Instead of Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Randy Savage, we got DDP, Booker T and Mike Awesome. It wasn't exactly what fans envisaged when they pictured WWF versus WCW. Another WCW star conspicuous by his absence was Sting. He had never wrestled for the WWF before and fans were dying to see him square off with the likes of The Undertaker, The Rock and Steve Austin. Sting decided to collect on his guaranteed contract and then left wrestling when it expired (or so he wished). WWE tried to sign Sting several times over the years but he was content in TNA, where he was a top star earning big money and wrestling a comparatively easier style and schedule. Sting left TNA in early 2014 and signed a legends contract with WWE. Network appearances and a 'Best Of' DVD followed. But the question remained: would Sting wrestle for WWE or even make an appearance before the live crowd? Those questions were answered at Survivor Series, when Sting prevented The Authority from beating Team Cena. it was great seeing Sting in a WWE after all of those years. It just felt right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14TKnHiWBWk
